The day I went to present my first chapter, beyond all the nerves of new things, I was filled with doubts about the designs, the materials, their colors, and their relationship to each body. Why? Because yes, everything is a constant learning process. That day, I hadn't planned on using linen in my first pieces, as my experience with it had been a bit strange. I loved its properties, its durability, its feel, but I struggled with its stiffness and the discomfort of its strong wrinkles (I definitely hadn't come across the right one).
Talking to the factory owner, I told him about my experience with linen, a material I loved a lot, but I felt it wouldn't match the values I was looking for in Marie's fabrics: that freedom of movement, that delicacy that connects with every body. A few minutes later, he appeared with some large scraps of a linen I fell in love with, and everything I'd thought about changed completely. I could feel its softness, its lightness, its drape, and above all, the joy of knowing that this fabric with so much history around the world was my new choice. I had found a linen that was Marie's style!
